Australia seems to have a weird obsession with making big things – the big banana, the big pineapple, the big prawn. Actually, the list of our big things is so big that I couldn’t possibly list them all here.
Considering this obsession, as well as our obsession with barbies, it is disappointing that we can’t lay claim to the world’s biggest BBQ. Nope, that accolade goes to cold, rainy, very barbecue un-friendly England.
The Bespoke BBQ Company in Gloucestershire have created the awesomely named God-Grilla.
Weighing in at two tonnes, this 5-metre long beast is capable of cooking 1,000 snags, 500 burgers, 7 lambs, 3 pigs or 2 full cows at once. You’d better have a few mates to help out though because it takes 3 chefs and 14 bags of coals to operate. And then you’ve got to find several hundred mouths to fill.
The scary thing is that creator Jack Henriques claims to be working on a BBQ that’s going to be even bigger!
